CHI & CHA

The COVID-19 pandemic has left thousands of artisans vulnerable, facing difficulties in selling their products, especially those who manufacture the « chicha » (hookah), known as an integral part of Tunisian culture.

The idea is to boost the production of this craftsmanship, using the same pieces available in their workshops and transforming them into new lighting fixtures. Everything is made of handcrafted, turned copper, assembled under a blown glass dome covering an inverted bowl that conceals LED lighting around an axis. Four artisan workshops in the Tunis Medina were saved during this period to give birth to a new « couple » called CHI & CHA.
